Renewable Energy: 300.000 jobs in 2009

Renewable energy creates jobs. In 2009 300,000 people were occupied during the production, installation and in the company by renewable energy arrangements. After results of the research plan of the Federal Environment Ministry „Gross employment by renewable energy in Germany in 2008“ the jobs spread as given.

Many enterprises located themselves just in underdeveloped regions. The biggest employers are the bioenergy branch (more than 109,000 jobs), wind energy (about 87,000 jobs) and solar energy enterprises (approx. 80,000 jobs). For the future the branch is confident: Up to 2020 they want a total of 500,000 employments. A large part will work directly for the export of arrangements and accessories to satisfy the rising inquiry for German renewable energy technology abroad. Besides, the many years of successful development at the home market is a benefit for the branch which it has made a worldwide technology leader.
