Heat from Renewable Energy in 2010

A variety of different renewable energy sources can produce heat, for example by using biomass, geothermal energy or solar heat. in 2010, renewable energies contributed 136 bn. kWh or 9,5% to the german heat demand. (2008: 8,8%.) The greatest part of this contribution is delivered by biomass, mainly by solid biomass like wood or biogenic waste.
