“Wind and solar energy will be the supporting pillars of energy supply in the future”
Why do you work in the renewable energies sector? What motivates you?
The goal of producing 100% clean electricity as quickly as possible in as many places in the world as possible. Climate protection / local value creation / independence / stable energy prices / development perspectives for poorer regions.
Where do you see renewable energies in the year 2020?
Nationwide, at at least 50 %, probably more. Some regions (counties, perhaps also states) will then be close to attaining a 100% supply of renewable energies (at least in the electricity sector).
In your view, how will the power plant park of the future with renewable energies look?
Wind and solar energy will be the supporting pillars of energy supply in the future – they use free resources and are almost universally available. The power plant park will be supplemented primarily by all the different facets of bio energy, as well as hydropower and geothermal energy. Intelligent energy management – to control production and consumption – will also play a key role, as will solar mobility.
In your view, which debates over renewable energies will define the year 2009
1. The conflict between decentralised renewable energy power plants and centralised large-scale power plants
2. Grid integration
3. Compensation rates for solar power
Expertise: Wind energy (onshore), photovoltaics, biogas, wood pellets, geothermal energy, hydropower, grid integration of renewable energies, business cost-benefit analysis of plants, eonomic cost-benefit analysis of renewables, financing and development of plants, communal use and acceptance of renewables, frameworks and funding, research, jobs

The Company
juwi Holding AG, Wörrstadt
Energie-Allee 1
55286 Wörrstadt (Rheinhessen)
The juwi group wants to contribute to a power supply generated entirely regeneratively in many areas: with the most modern wind turbines and photovoltaic plants, with sustainable bio energy projects and innovative technologies that increase efficiency.
The foundation 100% Renewables was brought to life as a step towards achieving this goal in close co-operation with political committees and management, businesses and associations as well as citizens. The campaign provides information on how people can live more energy-efficiently, save energy and reduce their personal CO2 output (carbon footprint). In addition, we advise municipalities how to reach the 100% target with the help of an intelligent energy mix and provide information on how this whole regions or even countries can achieve this too.
