Online Workshop - Strengthening Municipal Resilience: Acting together, Shaping the Future

At the same time, they face the challenge of adapting to the consequences of climate change, increasing extreme weather events, geopolitical uncertainty and growing demands for a secure and sustainable energy supply.

Successful solutions are already emerging in many places – but how can these experiences be made visible and transferred to other municipalities?

With the PeerConnect project, we are creating a space for exchange between municipalities, experts and other energy transition stakeholders. The aim is to make experiences visible, learn from one another and jointly develop strategies for greater municipal resilience.

PeerConnect is funded by the Federal Foreign Office and supports knowledge transfer and networking among stakeholders committed to a resilient and future-proof energy supply.

In the third and final workshop of our event series, we turn our attention to concrete approaches to solutions and explore the following question together:


How can municipalities and their partners work together to shape a resilient future?




Inputs:

  • Dr. Marek Jaskólski (Europastadt GörlitzZgorzelec GmbH) provides insights into the "Energizing Borders" project and uses the example of a cross-border energy community to show how cooperation and knowledge transfer can open up new options for action.

  • Alokananda Nath (Frankfurt School of Finance & Management) bridges municipal development, climate adaptation and climate finance, and examines the institutional and financial conditions municipalities need in order to implement resilient solutions.

We would like to work with you to identify which success factors can be transferred across national and municipal contexts, and to discuss together how such a transfer can succeed in practice.
