German dependency on foreign energy resources

With the exception of lignite Germany is almost entirely dependent on supplies of energy resources from abroad. For uranium and and hard coal the import quota is as high as 100 percent.

Reflecting renewables, the overall import dependency of our energy supply was 71 percent in 2021. Only the further expansion of renewables can lead to greater independence in foreign energy supply.
