Climate Action Education

RENEWS KOMPAKT Issue 46 / September 2019 - Acquiring the skills and awareness needed to mitigate climate change

How can we change people’s behavior towards climate protection? First, people need to know how their consumption impacts the climate. Focusing on energy issues in public forums also helps find a consensus. Respected community members set good examples. And adults have a hard time justifying their wasteful habits when well informed children confront them. Steps can be taken effectively within and outside con-ventional educational surroundings.

This paper was written for the LECo (Local Energy Communities) project funded by the Interreg Northern Periphery and Arctic Programme of the EU. See the project website localenergycommunities.net for further information.
