ENERCON's greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets officially validated by SBTi

ENERCON_logo_400x300ENERCON is proud to announce that its near-term greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets have been officially validated by the Science-Based Targets initiative. This validation confirms that ENERCON’s climate goals are aligned with the 1.5°C pathway outlined in the Paris Climate Agreement.

Earlier in 2025, ENERCON reaffirmed its commitment to climate action by joining the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)—a globally recognized organization that supports companies in setting emissions reduction targets grounded in the latest climate science.

Following the completion of its review process, SBTi has officially validated ENERCON’s near-term greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets, affirming both their ambition and alignment with climate science.
ENERCON’s validated near-term targets include:
• 49% reduction of scope 1 and scope 2 GHG emissions by 20301
• 80% electricity from renewable sources by 2025, increasing to 100% by 2030
• 52% reduction of scope 3 GHG emissions intensity by 2030

‘We must act both individually and collectively to safeguard the future of our planet and tackle climate change’, ENERCON CEO Udo Bauer states. ‘Climate and environmental protection are fundamental to ENERCON’s values. We are proud not only to be leaders in renewable energy technology, but also in the ambition and credibility of our climate targets. We are excited to continue advancing toward these goals and have already begun implementing emissions reduction measures such as the electrification of our fleet and the increased purchasing of electricity from renewable sources.’
More information on the specific actions and roadmap that ENERCON plans to follow to achieve these targets can be found in our sustainability strategy.
